Lagu "waving flag" dinyanyikan oleh K'naan (nama asal Keinan Abdi Warsame) telah menjadi fenomena ekoran musim Piala Dunia 2010 di Afrika Selatan. Keinan dilahirkan di Somalia pada tahun 1978, dan membesar di Mogadishu .Keinan dikenali juga sebagai penyair di Somalia, malah datuknya Haji Mohamed, adalah penulis tersohor di Somalia. Ketika berusia 13 tahun, Keinan berhijrah mengikut ibunya ke New York di mana beliau mulai mencambah minat terhadap muzik. Setelah berpindah ke Toronto, Kanada, Keinan mempelajari bahasa Inggeris dengan mendengar lagu-lagu hip hop daripada penyanyi seperti Nas dan Rakim.
Lagu asal Waving Flag adalah mengenai masyarakat yang tertindas, the oppressed. Tentu, ia adalah semangat Islam yang sebenar. Itulah keadaan masyarakat Islam pada hari ini “tertindas” oleh penindasan.Sirah Nabawiyyah telah melakarkan bahawa kehadiran Rasulullah S.A.W adalah sebagai penyelamat manusia yang tertindas . Manusia itulah yang menempa nama memperjuangkan hak-hak wanita dari ditanam hidup-hidup ,manusia itulah yang mengangkat taraf hamba .Kerana golongan tertindaslah kebanyakan pemerintah berada dalam kebimbangan. Bimbangkan api semangat tertindas akan dihidupkan dan sukar untuk dipadamkan. Palestin yang ditindas walaupun benar perjuangannya,Republik Islam Iran yang ditindas walau benar perjuangannya.Bendera kemenangan dan kebebasan pasti akan berkibar jua walau perit perjuangannya.
